Road Captains
Welcome to the Santa Maria Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.)!
It is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to welcome you to the Santa Maria Harley Owners Group. The Santa Maria H.O.G. Chapter has a great group of members and we are sponsored by what I feel is the Best Harley Davidson dealership in the State of California and I have been to a lot of them. They have a great supportive staff that are always eager to help H.O.G members.
It is also a pleasure for me to be appointed as your Chapter Head Road Captain and we have a lot of great rides and events scheduled for 2012. Please take a few minutest to look at our 2012 ride schedule so that maybe you can pick out some rides that you would like to join us on. Chapter members always have a great time wherever we go! You will also notice that we have some great events that we support throughout the year. One of the events this year that we will need everyone’s help with is the 2012 California State H.O.G. Rally that will start in Santa Maria this year on September 11th. I also hope that you can make the remainder of the State Rally ride this year. This year’s event is a riding rally and we will be heading to Visalia from Santa Maria and then on to Mammoth Lakes and will end up in Sacramento. This year’s theme is ‘California Passes’ so it should be a beautiful and great ride across some of California’s beautiful passes. If you have any ideas for rides you would like to see the Chapter explore then please don’t hesitate to pass that idea on to me, one of the Road Captains or one of our Chapter Officers.
The Chapter also has a great group of Road Captains that are out to ensure that you have a great ride but also a safe ride. Please take some time and review the Chapter’s Safety Handbook that can be found on the Safety page. You may be a seasoned rider or you may be new to riding but in either case you need to ride your own ride and ‘you’ are ultimately responsible for your own safety.
I hope to see more chapter members participate on some of the Chapter rides and events this year.
